Hailing from Nigeria, Deyon Agoi, born to a photographer dad and a fashion designer mom, is more than just an artist with a beautiful voice, he's a storyteller weaving his narrative through music. Like many successful vocalists, Deyon began singing at a young age, although a career in music wasn't initially on the horizon for him.
During his studies in food technology and biochemistry in Lagos, Nigeria, Deyon stumbled upon a passion for music production, a journey that started as a fun activity with his rapper roommate, now known as WonderThaHypeman. By 2015, he had transitioned into producing music professionally under the moniker Dyrecta.
The Story Behind His Music
The official release of his music journey kicked off in January 2019 with the debut single "WITH YOU." Despite starting with a sensual-themed style, Deyon took an unexpected turn. "THANK GOD," one of his tracks, found its way onto a Christian Editorial playlist on Spotify, showcasing the versatile nature of his talent.
A significant breakthrough occurred when Deyon Agoi collaborated with CHOPDAILY on the track "YANNA," making its debut at an impressive No. 17 on the OFFICIAL UK AFROBEATS CHART. The track has since garnered over 25 million streams on Spotify, establishing Deyon's presence in the music industry.
